The Minnesota Safety Council is a private, not-for-profit organization dedicated to preventing unintentional injuries ("accidents") through education. The goal of this website is to educate children about the importance of buckling up properly and to inform parents of the risks to children when they are not restrained or are improperly restrained in motor vehicles. We care about the safety of children and the biggest risk to our children is traffic-related injuries. This website provides fun activities for kids that deliver important messages about being properly buckled up. It also provides information to help adults in choosing the safest way to buckle children in vehicles. Please note that we do not seek any personally-identifying information from children (see our privacy policy). Creation of the Snappy Safari website was funded by a grant from the American Public Health Association, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the American Medical Association. It was developed by the Minnesota Safety Council in partnership with the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Office of Traffic Safety, the Minnesota Medical Association, the Minnesota SAFE KIDS Coalition and the Minnesota Public Health Association.
We will not obtain personally-identifying information about you when you visit our site, unless you choose to provide such information to us. We receive listings of general information about visitors to our site, including: the type and version of browsers used (for example, America Online.4 or Microsoft Internet Explorer.5); the operating systems used by visitors (such as Windows or MacIntosh); the names of the domains from which they access the Internet (for example, yahoo.com., altavista.com, dot.state.mn.us, etc.); the dates that visitors come to our site; the amount of time spent on the site; and the pages visited. None of this information is connected to any personally-identifying information. We use this information to measure the number of visitors to the different sections of our site, and to help make the site more useful.
